Courtesy of significant training at the fabulous Morgan Motor Cars in Malvern, Technology SOS are now pleased to be able to offer and install full High Definition (HD), 3D and multi channel sound distribution systems in both residential and commercial properties courtesy of HDconnectivity and HDanywhere.
So what does this mean?
Basically, most people have Sky+ HD and a Blu-ray player in their lounge. Using Sky+ HD as an example, with this solution, we can share the picture and sound from your Sky+ HD box to any other TV in Full HD & multi channel audio (Dolby Digital) with no loss in quality and with full infrared (IR) remote control capabilities as if you were in your lounge. Granted, you can and we have installed many Sky+ HD distribution solutions using a loft box with full control using the ‘magic eye’ or ‘mouse’, but this is only distributed in standard definition (SD) and stereo sound. This new option sends the signal in full HD with multi channel audio so you’re getting the same quality picture, pixel for pixel on you’re second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth (you get the picture (no pun intended)) TV as you would on your main TV. You would also receive multi channel audio, so if you had a surround sound system in the kids play room for example, this could play the full multi channel audio and not just 2 channel stereo through the TV. You pay Sky well for this service, so why not maximise it and have Sky+ HD viewable in more than one location and in full HD quality with multi channel sound?
Not only that, but we can also distribute and share other devices, such as your Blu-ray, Xbox, PS3, Media Steamer, the list goes on. For example, you could be playing Xbox in the lounge, whilst the kids are watching a Blu-ray in their bedroom and someone watching a cookery program in the kitchen, all at the same time, all in HD, all with multi channel audio and all can be controlled from the viewing location.
In a nutshell, the solution supports up to 8 sources and up to 8 destinations
There’s more still. Part of the install also allows additional network points to be available at each TV. This is particularly useful with the number of ‘Smart TVs’ now available and always growing. Smart TVs require an internet connection to be able to access certain content such as ‘On Demand’ or ‘Catch Up TV’. Also, if you have content on a PC in your house you’d like to be able to view on any TV, such as photos, these can also be accessed via this connection.
This isn’t restricted to just HD either. This solution will also cater for non-HD sources such as a regular DVD player, so that can also be shared throughout the house. The solution really can mix and match, giving you your content throughout the house in a truely multi-room experience.
Alternatively, if you don’t like cables, or simply want to hide away the equipment and only have the flat screen TV on display, we can put all the source equipment in a cupboard out of sight for neatness and retain full remote control access without seeing the source or having to leave the TV unit cupboard doors open for the remote to work.
Our solutions start from as little as £25 for a simple 1 to 1 connection up to a 8 to 8 connection and is future proof supporting 4K resolutions. What’s not to like?
If you already have a distribution solution in place, such as the ‘magic eye’ or ‘mouse’ from Sky, this isn’t a problem, as we can potentially use the existing cabling to route the new cabling, saving both time and money.
On the other hand, if you’re currently building a new property or renovating, be sure to get in touch. We can work with you or your builders to incorporate the solution as the building work progresses, as this solution conforms to building regulations and standards.
To give a better understanding, here’s a few examples to give a visual representation;
